Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Position Purpose To represent the owner s interests in the execution of a 100MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Project located in Kairouan, Tunisia. The Site-Based Electrical Engineer, operating from the owner s perspective, will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the effective implementation of all electrical engineering aspects of the project. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of solar PV systems, electrical design, and project management, and will play a pivotal role in achieving the project s objectives. Responsibilities • Serve as the owner s technical authority on all matters related to electrical engineering for the solar PV project. • Collaborate closely with the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor to ensure adherence to approved electrical designs, construction plans, and project specifications. • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, assess work quality, and ensure compliance with project requirements. • Review and approve electrical design documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports provided by the EPC contractor. • Actively participate in project meetings and provide technical insights to resolve engineering challenges and ensure effective communication between the owner and the contractor. • Interface with relevant local authorities, utilities, and stakeholders to secure necessary permits, approvals, and grid connections. • Manage the commissioning phase of the project, overseeing testing, quality checks, and performance validation of electrical systems and components. • Monitor the project s timeline, budget, and milestones to ensure alignment with the owner s goals and expectations. • Collaborate with environmental and safety experts to ensure compliance with Lenders QHSE requirements, safety standards and environmental regulations. • Provide technical expertise and support during the resolution of any electrical issues that arise during construction and commissioning. • Prepare and maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation related to the project s electrical engineering activities.
